Problem Statement
The challenge
The existing account summary presented all accounts in a flat, undifferentiated list with no hierarchy. Customers with multiple products — checking, savings, HELOC, mortgage, loans, and credit cards — couldn't quickly understand their financial position or take common actions without excessive scrolling and hunting.
Methodology
How the work moved
01Ran a competitive analysis on Day 1 of each sprint, reviewing how Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Ally, and fintech apps like Chime handled account hierarchy, quick actions, and financial insight widgets.
02Facilitated two structured design sprints (Sprint 5: Account Summary, Sprint 6: Account Opening) — mapping insights and business requirements on Day 1, generating paper and digital concepts, then building wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for testing.
03Designed a collapsible account group architecture (Deposit Accounts, Credit Cards, Lines of Credit, Loans, CDs) with expandable detail views, contextual quick actions (Pay Bills, Zelle, eStatements), credit score widget, spending insights chart, ATM/branch locator, and personalized promotion banners — all validated through usability sessions.
